The output light from the purple light source, blue light source and yellow light source is combined into one beam through a dichroic mirror, converged by an objective lens and coupled to the same multimode optical fiber. The three colors of excitation light transmitted to a specific brain region of the mouse through the optical fiber will respectively excite the green fluorescent protein (such as GCaMP6) and red fluorescent protein (such as mChery) marked in a single brain region. The green fluorescence and red fluorescence generated by the excitation are collected by the same multimode optical fiber and converted into electrical signals by two weak light detectors at the detection end to reflect different neural activity information.
